Broadway the Hardway Benefit the Tyler Clementi Foundation- Jacob Langfelder presents Broadway stars including Tony nominee Lauren Worsham with Sky-Pony and Tony winner Lena Hall with The Deafening in Broadway The Hardway. Special performances by Brendan Maclean, Grace McLean, Dorinda Medley (Real Housewives of NYC), Courtney Act (RuPaul’s DragRace), and Emmy winner Lance Horne. All ticket proceeds went to the Tyler Clementi Foundation.
6.) ‘Kinky Boots’ star Shines his Spotlight on The Alzheimer’s Association- Andy Kelso, star of the Tony Award winning musical, Kinky Boots, and his beautiful wife Sheila Coyle discuss why Alzheimer’s disease is important to them, then President and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association NYC Chapter Lou-Ellen Barkan sheds some light on the disease and how people can get involved.
7.) National Dance Institute Teaches More Than Dance- National Dance Institute, a wonderful organization teaches children dance steps, but also self-confidence, self- awareness, and self-respect. Founded by professional dancer Jacques d’Amboise in 1976, Jacques believed that every child, regardless of stature, should enjoy dance. The National Dance Institute is changing lives, one child at a time.
8.) Nonprofit Theatre Company Opens Doors to All- Oberon Theatre Ensemble allows lower priced tickets so all can experience theatre at its very best. The brilliant writer Christopher Boal (23 Knives, Order, Zorro) discusses why it’s important for everyone to be able to attend theatre, regardless of age or social stature, and Artistic Director Brad Fryman explains why Oberon Theatre Ensemble maintains it’s their mission to offer the highest-quality shows at the lowest ticket prices.
9.) Viacom Gets Down to Give Back- We take you behind the scenes of Viacom’s 6th Annual holiday charity event, Give Back Get Down. The employee-led event partners with several nonprofit organizations that focus on a specific cause. This year’s cause was literacy and education. Viacom is exemplary in its community outreach and effort to make a difference.
10.) ChariTea: Giving Hot Tea to Those In Need- We partnered with Fresh and Co, PopChips, One Sandwich At A Time, and the Michael-Alan Group to provide hot tea to the homeless. We borrowed tea canisters from MAG that you wear on your back, so we could go anywhere that people needed some warm tea to warm up their hearts.
11.) Hamilton’s Creator & Star Spotlights Girl Be Heard- Lin Manuel Miranda and his father Luis Miranda, Jr. are honored as Girl Be Heard‘s first Fairy Godfathers. The impressive young girls presented the Mirandas with a Hamilton-inspired show of spoken word and music, and the Mirandas in turn said they were grateful, humbled, and overwhelmed with emotion. 12>) Super Bowl Champion Teaches Kids Life Lessons Off The Field: NFL player and sports correspondent Chris Canty and his family have always given back, and now they doing so in a big way through the Chris Canty Foundation.
